Ashwini Hiremath aka Krantinaari
Ashwini Hiremath aka Krantinaari, a multi-disciplinary artist with a focus on communication design, activism and rap music. Human centric design is her interest area of work. She has worked on multiple projects which target subject areas like women empowerment, education, climate crisis and sustainability. Her pro mediums of communication have been zines, large scale murals, graphics, music, exhibition design and installations. After completing her design education from DJ academy of design and IIT Bombay she paved her way into teaching at NID Kurukshetra, worked at Microsoft, worked on multiple research projects one of the subjects being river environment, culture and society. Her music specifically brings in a female perspective in a male dominated music industry of hip-hop. Through music she built a system to share her learnings through interactive workshops. Her superpower is her energy and enthusiasm. She loves to play basketball (is crazy about it). She Enjoys spending time learning new things. She usually likes to keep lowkey about her achievements but she has been one of the few artists to be selected for festivals like NH7 Weekender and Sofar gigs. She is the brainchild of India's first all female hip-hop collective called WildWildWomen. Krantinaari creates tools for women to empower themselves for a better living, physically and mentally. Integrating design and music which helped her to come up with innovative ways to bring in change on a grassroot level.
